Starting July 1, 2026, the Illinois Department of Early Childhood will officially become the lead agency for Child Care Licensing, Head Start State Collaboration Office Grant, Home Visiting, Early Intervention and the Child Care Assistance Program, Early Childhood Block Grant, and a range of other early childhood support to families, providers and educators.

Child Care Development Fund (CCDF) Plans

The following is the application for CCDF funds providing the Administration for Children and Families (ACF) and the public with a description of the Child Care and Development Fund program administered by the State or Territory. The current plan period is from 10/01/2024 to 9/30/2027, as provided for in the applicable statutes and regulations. The Lead Agency has the flexibility to modify this program at any time, including amending the options selected or described.
