Starting July 1, 2026, the Illinois Department of Early Childhood will officially become the lead agency for Child Care Licensing, Head Start State Collaboration Office Grant, Home Visiting, Early Intervention and the Child Care Assistance Program, Early Childhood Block Grant, and a range of other early childhood support to families, providers and educators.

The Illinois Department of Early Childhood is working tirelessly to make grants more seamless for early childhood providers and families in Illinois. As a part of these efforts, the department has consolidated the entire grants management process into a new, online EUNA Grants grant management system.  

As a new agency, we’re excited to engage as many organizations as possible as we grow and develop the current and future programming here at IDEC! Below you will find new and existing news and resources as you look to learn about new and existing grant opportunities, and the systems we’re building to support you along the way.
